Former New Bedford Mayor Scott Lang considering 2014 run for Massachusetts governor

BOSTON — Political prognosticators musing about the field of possible 2014 contenders for the Corner Office can add Scott Lang to the list.

The two-term New Bedford mayor who left office in January to resume a private sector legal practice told the News Service Monday that he’s considering a bid for the post during the next campaign season.

Lang said his decision on whether to enter the race will ultimately depend on the way the field shapes up and whether he feels he can make an impact on the policy issues he cares about.
